Home Gym? Easier Than You Think!

When the weather changes and we spend less time outside with activities and sports, you still need to find ways to keep active. And with the economy the way it is and all of us trying to stretch our dollars to cover basic expenses, many people have cut gym memberships from their monthly budgets, understandably. So what do you do now?
Get creative! Even in my small one bedroom apartment, I have set up a crude personalized gym. You can still maintain your health and keep your bikini figure through the winter with these easy and fairly inexpensive additions to your space.
You’ll need:
-An exercise/physio ball ($15-45)
-A yoga mat ($15-45)
-Resistance bands ($10-20).
The exercise/physio ball acts like a bench. Just by adjusting your body position you can make it an incline or decline. In fact, using the ball in place of a bench exhausts more of your core, stablizer and neutralizer muscles during a set. And if you want to be a little more fancy with your home gym, add a set of dumbbells—especially the stackable type for space saving. Women need no more than 25 lbs and men need no more than 50 lbs.
Working out in your own home space will increase the opportunities to maintain your fitness throughout the winter. Even a 30-minute discombobulated routine will get the heart rate up and burn some calories!
So, while you’re catcing up on your DVR’d shows and staying out of the cold, walk a couple steps over to your personal home gym and get a few sets in. Come spring, you’ll be glad you did.
Enjoy Your Exercise. Enjoy Your Day.
